* From 2003 to 2006 a collection of 940 seal stamps from early modern and modern times (1580-1990) was registered in the State Archives in Szczecin. Most of them date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. The article presents some of methodical problems which appeared during registration of collected seal stamps. They concerned, first of all, datation of device and identyfying owners of the seals of patrimonial courts. The author deals also with the problem of describing material used for making seal stamps.
