The main function of the system is registering all events related to running an active external archive by Association. The functionalities of the system include in particular:

• Registering document deliveries to the archive,
• Indexing the accepted documentation using a three-level indexing system (container, volume, record),
• Registering and monitoring the location of containers in the archive,
• Providing access to the items ordered by the client and registering type of access (e.g. delivery of the original, sending by fax, sending by electronic mail),
• Registering the returns of items which were made available earlier.
